Merit Energy Company’s strategy has remained the same since the company was founded in 1989: to acquire, operate and develop mature, producing properties within the United States, Canada and the Gulf of Mexico. Our goal is to utilize our expertise and become a more efficient operator of these assets by controlling costs and increasing production. Our diligent tracking of each step of the production process enables us to monitor our progress and continually improve our efficiencies and generate consistent returns.

Merit’s results over our twenty year history have emphasized the importance of our disciplined operating philosophy. By purchasing properties with a high percentage of producing reserves, we are able to add value by implementing exploitation projects to increase production and further enhance the value of our properties. Placing a high priority on the details and physical control of the day to day operations enables Merit to effectively keep operating costs to a minimum.

Merit owns an interest in over 13,000 wells in the United States, Gulf of Mexico and Canada with net daily production in excess of 84,865 BOEPD. Our pumpers and operations people in the field are employees of Merit Energy, which has been a key driver in the success of Merit. To manage the day-to-day operations of our properties, Merit employs a field staff of over 425 people who work from fifteen field offices. We have four operating divisions that focus on eight core operating areas within the United States and Canada. We are committed to “the details” and have a dedicated team that carries this philosophy into the operations of our assets.
